Reiki

A form of healing that stems from Japan, Reiki is gaining popularity worldwide. Reiki incorporates elements from many other types of therapy, including meditation, aromatherapy, homeopathy, and spiritual healing. Basically, reiki is a transferring of energy from the practitioner to the patient. This transferring of energy allows the patient’s body to heal itself. The word “reiki” is a Japanese word that represents universal energy. It is believed that this energy is all around us, and practitioners of reiki can channel this energy into specific patterns. Typically, it is up to the patient to absorb this energy, meaning the patient plays a part in their own spiritual healing. The practitioner is a vessel.

Most reiki treatments do not involve actual touching of the patient by the practitioner. The hands of the practitioner typically glide above and around the patient, moving energy along the way.
